Does your favourite month of the year begin with "M" and end in "Y"?

Doh! Someone's trying to generate a bit of interest and enthusiasm in the masquerade ball in May but we have a nasty feeling we're barking up the wrong tree.

We know that Fun but the truth is we don't actually have that much time. Decisions are needed because if, as the original post/poll shows, the majority are looking for an SP exclusive ball - and that means a minimum of 200 (which we think is really unachievable based on previous events and current membership).

So the reality means we'll probably have a shared event and the organisers usually sell out well in advance - so we have to confirm numbers for them to reserve tickets. If we don't get in quick they will be sold.

And yes, it's a pain posting this 7 months early and yes it would be nice to get Xmas and stuff out of the way but the reasons stated above stand.

You asked what people's favourite month is! icon_biggrin.gif
I've already expressed my interest in the ball but I can't think about it or confirm until I have the expense of Christmas out of the way..

May is a long way off. If this was a works do whereby we were all in the same actual room on a daily basis then this would be easier for you to co-ordinate but you're dealing with folk who are all over the country who have different time and circumstantial commitments. You just have to be a bit more understanding about it from our point of view. icon_smile.gif

Midgie et al,

We asked what your fav month was simply to try and point people to the May Ball thread (as we did in other forums with other equally pointless threads) ... but I am sure you understand that.

And yes we have noted that you have expressed interest. So this thread isn't about you, it's about other people going to and reacting to the May Ball thread and expressing their interest.

And yes we know May is a long way of and there are loads of things happening before then but the fundamental problem is that the numbers of interested people is an important figure to know sooner rather than later as a small number sets the earlier date and we have to advise the organisers to RESERVE tickets for SP members to match that amount and anything close to 200 (ha ha) sets the later date but still requires us to advise the organisers as they have to arrange premises, facilities, 20 staff and professional performers.

Another week, maybe two and we will be forced to take the shared event by default and then it will be dead easy to organise as it will be first come, first served and SP members will have to take pot luck.
