Folks,
I am not normally one to say much or make ripples but.....

having just attended MK6 with 12 attendees (see my other forum feedback) i wanted to finally express a view and also a plead....

Those that could not attend for genuine family or personal reasons etc this isnt about you at all......

Those people who have seemed over the past months, from my distant observation, to be doom mongering and possibly being mischevious, by constantly saying "this site is going downhill"...well guess what...you had your desired effect and seemingly managed to put lots of people off coming to MK in case it was "crap"

those of us that went....we made it fun.... icon_wink.gif (you know who you are)...

those who have been in previous years.....it would have been just as much fun for you....

this isnt about a club meet occuring on the same night....there is plenty of room and plenty of people to chose whichever night they fancied..

so my request is....please whoever is doing the doom mongering and rumour spreading.... this site is obviously not for you so you may as well leave please.........

those of you who beleive life is too short to not have fun..... relax...the fun is still there...

I'm sorry to hear MK 6 wasn't as big a success as normal. I've never been to one and this is partly due to a lack of confidence on my part, I prefer small gatherings rather than large groups, and partly not really having the time etc.

I understand your concerns about people's 'negative' comments and the effect they could have on the site and any social gatherings.

But... we all have to accept that this change in opinion is mainly due to the site being redesigned. Some of the new features are good but others have had a negative affect on 'real' members (i.e. full members).

The owners have jumped on the 'social networking' band wagon and tried to make the site fit with that style.

Fine, but this then draws a lot of people here who just want to join up (for free) and enjoy a bit of titillation. The owners love this as it swells their membership and therefore raises the sites profile, but the real swingers then get lost in a sea of freebie members.

I think the site has now become more about the money than about the real members and their enjoyment (i.e. swinging).

Free sites are very popular and this also spells bad news for our site.

Please don't think I am one of the doom mongers. I just see things for what they are. If we all step back and look at what's happening it all becomes very clear. Very sad though.

I keep logging in each day in the hope things will improve and I don't plan to give up.

I don't agree at all Midsdave, People stopped bothering with the site long before the upgrades! I think people stopped bothering with this site when they discovered Facebook!

Before the upgrades people were moaning about the site needing updating now you all moan about the upgrades ruining the site!

You say it's about making money but when Admin gave away free memberships, people complained!

If the site owners have given up on this site, could you blame them?

The reason we got bored was because there were just no new members coming into the chatroom, the number of chatters was decreasing week by week, so I would spend my free time on Facebook instead of here.

Hi Sid_n_Nancy,

Yes, Facebook has gained a big following. Are there people swinging on there though? I'm registered with Facebook but wouldn't think of doing on there what we do here.

But that aside, I agree the old site was struggling with its less modern look and the chatroom needed an upgrade, but this new site seems to be unfinished in some respects.

One point though... I remember the old site showing its membership as around the 250,000 mark before being rebuilt. It now shows over 340,000. So membership has increased but how many are full and how many free we don't know.

I suppose we will all have our opinions and we are entitled to them.

Only time will tell with the site, so we will have to see what happens.

Well after a round trip of 6 hours "yes 6 hours" we are glad we were at Mk as we met some friends on the friday and saturday night. After organising 2 social myself last year its amazing how many people say they are coming and surprisingly dont turn up because :

1- They are skint (budget for it, we do)
2- Its too far (no excuse)
3- I am shy and a newbie (we were once until we attended a social)
4- I dont know anyone (attending a social will surprisingly get u to meet new friends)
5- I have no intention of going but put my name down anyway just incase (make a decision,u only live once)

Genuine excuses

1- Illness
2- Genuine bill has come in this week and we are skint (it happens)
3- Babysitters letting u down (it happens)

We have now been to 7 socials in 2 1/2 years and met some wonderful people and we will carry on doing this, we love going to new places and Mrs Ants loves to shop, what women doesnt. But please be honest before the social and if you are not going then dont put ur name down. Dont make excuses if you have no intention of going.
If you are unsure of socials, they are a good way to meet new people and have fun , if sex happens it happens ,it doesnt always there are perhaps other "fab" sites that might interest you for quick meets but a social is a laugh with people you get to call friends over a period of time, we do.

Finally

Please can any "BITCHIN" on this site stop , have fun with like minded people who are into the same things as you are , life is too short to argue about stupid petty arguments, life is for lovin and laughin not for bitchin and whingin.

Right were do i start..........so sorry we could not attend MK6 gutted but family first guys.

Socials are a fantastic way of meeting people and totally agree with Ants and Mr Y we have met loads of new friends and had some great laughs along the way ( Rach break dancing at MK5 lmao )

As the other posts say swinging is about having a laugh with friends with a bonus of fun.

As for the crap going on, its so petty and at the end of the day we are all adults ( i think, well in body anyway lol ),
we pay for this and it is our choice to do so, so lets not put down this fab site, lets get it back on track to were it should be, one that people recommend to other fellow swinger.

Turf out the trouble and lets all get dirty lol xxxxx

Oh dear, we would of loved to come to mk, but we just arn't the lucky ones who have sitters on tap. It is to far for us as we have 2 small kids but maybe next time if we are still on this site we will try to come.

hi folks.
Babs here, Fred and I went along to MK last week and had a great time, we met up with people who we consider to be good friends, we would never have met any of these people had we not joined SP and gone along to the socials. Our very first social was nerve racking to say the least, we had only just got in "swinging" but we were made to feel so welcome, especially by Jeff and Stella, two fantastic people. There was no pressure from anyone to do anything that we didn't want to, so all you new people out there go along if you can, and yes it sometimes is a long journey,(took us a good 4hrs each way) but we made a week-end out of it, (shopped till we dropped sat daytime).If you get to "play" then its a bonus but you are guaranteed to have a laugh.
About the site....i go into the chatroom and feel comfortable to do so without fred being beside me, i have a laugh and a flirt with a lot of people and no one has ever been dis- respectful to me, its all good fun, after all isn't that what we are on the site for "fun". I could go on and on..but i won't. I for one (and Fred) would miss SP if we couldn't have a bit of a perve each day (altho Freds more of a perve than me) LOL xxx

im really sorry to read all this, i wish we could of made mk, but due to ill health we couldnt, it's such a shame that only a handful ofpeople went, but im more than sure that who went had a great time.

i know that we have not renewed our membership , but hopefully that a temperary set bcak icon_smile.gif, as you who know me , i loved being in the chat room, but it just got empty or nasty, which is just not what we are on the scene for.
as people before me have said we are all adults and the playgroung mentallity that was happening was far to much for me to sit and watch.

So come on guys lets all get back into what this site is about and have some nice adult fun.
